Nina Garcia
PREWITT, N.M. — Funeral services for Nina Garcia, 91, were held May 16 at the Blue Mountain Mission Church in Prewitt, N.M. Interment followed at the Baca Cemetery.
Nina was born April 20, 1926, in Prewitt, into the Kiyaa’aanii (Towering House Clan), born for Naakai dine’é (Mexican Clan). She died May 9, 2017, in Gallup.
Nina never attended school but growing up she became a cook at Borrego Pass School and herded sheep her entire life.
Nina is survived by Raymond Garcia and Randy Garcia.
Pallbearers were Micheal P. Begay, Marcus P. Begay, Raymond Garcia, Randy Garcia, Clarrison Hudson, and Wesley Cayaditto.
Rollie Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
